Some riders prefer to connect their bike-based power meters to Velocity as their power and cadence source because that will be their source of data when they're on the road.

This is very easy and quick to setup with Velocity. Please follow these steps:

1) Launch the device connection wizard from the top center of the main rider landing page or through the pop-up when you enter a workout

2) Power: the top left quadrant is where you'll connect to your power meter (pedals, crank, hub, etc.). Click the "Connect" button and a search will begin. When you see your device, click on it to highlight it AND then click "Pair". If you have a power meter, you're done with this step. If it asks you if you'd like to use this device for resistance control, do not select that option.

  • Note: If you start pedaling while still in the device connection screen, the power and cadence will activate and display.

  • If you have set up your power meter in this step and cadence is reporting, you do NOT need to connect the optional external cadence connection in the bottom right quadrant

3) Resistance Control: If you have elected to use a power meter as your power source and want the smart trainer to operate independently as a resistance control device. You'll want to click connect, select your device from the search list and then click on "Pair" to establish the connection

  • Note: Velocity typically will NOT run in ERG mode, so you will be responsible for shifting gears to control your power and cadence output and compliance.
