Software Update Won't Finish or the Update Bar Won't Clear Out

This article provides guidance on navigating a software update that won't finish.

In rare circumstances, the update bar or banner will become non-responsive at the top of the screen. This is generally quickly resolved by performing a reset while still in that Velocity tab:

For Macs: Command+Shift+R

For PCs: Control+Shift+R

This will generally resolve the issue, but if it does not, here are the advanced steps to clear out the issue. This will only affect the cache for Velocity.

To start, click on that little button to the left of the app.vqvelocity.com URL. That’ll bring up the following menu/dialog...

From there click on the “Cookies and site data” option near the bottom. That will bring up the following dialog...

Select the “Manage on-device site data” option. That brings up the following (and last) dialog...

From there, click the trash cans for each of the sites listed, then click the “Done” button. Chrome will then give you a “Reload” button. Click that button to reload the app and that’ll force a re-login. That should get you into the latest version.
